About Razz Salem
Razz is the lead trustee whose funds (EP-SI and RS Impact) are uniquely designed to address pressing social ills through strategic public-private partnerships, impact equity investing (M&A), impact leadership, impact business model, impact customer acquisition program, impact business start-ups, impact business/investment advocacy and impact branding. He advocates for business and capitalism to take a leading role in influencing positively the contour of social landscape.
He’s instrumental in mobilising fund allocation to support business to engineer positive social change. He is in the business of social change, after all.
His extensive knowledge of impact investment and impact business saw him sitting on the boards of advisory of various companies and foundations in Malaysia and Indonesia.
Corporate Footprints
He is a non-executive director and a senior adviser of Singapore-based healthcare investment group, RR Sculpt Private Limited. He assumes the role of Chief Impact Officer (CIO) for RR Sculpt Private Limited. He has been a lead fundraiser at Watter-GlennHill Ventures since 2012 and still is. He was appointed in 2019 by the board of directors of M Asia Sdn Bhd, a Malaysia-based healthcare solutions firm to advise the board on issues pertaining to sustainability and impact leadership. It is an online platform providing medical second opinions to patients in the most efficient and easiest way possible. His consulting tenure ran for a year.
Shareholder
Razz joined KH Equestrian Asia Sdn Bhd as its mentor-cum-shareholder in 2020. He’s responsible for putting the company on a national map in the sphere of horse-based training programmes. He’s also pivoting the company to be investment-ready for series A, B and C funding rounds, as well as putting in additional efforts to earn capital as well, if appropriate.
Board Advisory
Razz was also invited at the point of writing to sit on the boards of non-executive directorship & advisory at US-incorporated EYFL Inc, Switzerland-based YesWeTrust AG, Canada-based Oreka Solutions, Denmark-based SamfundsTanken and SG-incorporated Jumanji Studio Pte Ltd and InsuranceMart Pte Ltd.
He was recently officially appointed in 2021 as a board adviser at New York-incorporated AI guided sports educational platform, Studyum Inc in which his main function would be mostly international business diplomacy.
Academic Involvement
He was acknowledged in 2013 by Asia Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy (ACSEP), National University of Singapore (NUS), for his keen insight and broad experiences of Asia Philanthropy for research project.
He was one of the judges at the finals of the new Social Enterprise/Cooperative category of the 13th Start-up@Singapore Business Plan Competition on 14th April 2012 at National University of Singapore (NUS). He was again invited to be the judge for the Social Venture Challenge (Open Category) at National University of Singapore (NUS) on 20th April 2013.
He was invited by Singapore Management University (SMU) in 2013 as part of its evaluation committee for the $100K HSBC grant, which was meant to be awarded to one Singapore finalist among the top six for the 7th edition of the LKY Global Business Plan competition.
In 2018, Razz was invited again by NUS and Development Bank of Singapore (DBS) Foundation in May, 2018 as their semi-final round judge to help in the selection of the top 100 teams for this year’s competition - 2018 DBS-NUS Social Venture Challenge Asia.
Razz was invited to mentor ASEAN Impact Challenge 2018 ten finalists on 11/11/2018 by Impact Hub Kuala Lumpur in Singapore at Singapore Management University (SMU).
University Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) has recently invited Razz in 2021 to be strategic adviser to lead and organise the startup project.
International Organisation
United Nations’ WSA has appointed Razz in June, 2015 as their Special Ambassador for Singapore and beyond whose role is to promote the utility of digital technology for social good. He hosted UN World Summit Award in Singapore in 2016 that attracted delegates from 40 United Nations member nations.
